How many portable toilets do I need?
OSHA 1926.51(c)(1) sets the baseline for construction: one toilet facility for 20 workers or fewer; one toilet seat and one urinal per 40 workers from 20 up; one toilet seat and one urinal per 50 workers at 200 or more. If you're renting for an event, the crowd size and duration matter more than a fixed rule. A four-hour festival needs fewer units than a three-day camping event. What's the difference between standard and deluxe units?
A standard porta potty rental is a single-occupant vault toilet with a 60 to 70 gallon holding tank, roughly 44 by 48 inches on the ground and about 92 inches tall. It's cleaned weekly under the ANSI/PSAI Z4.3 service standard. A deluxe flushable porta potty has an electric flush, hand sanitizer, a sink and better ventilation. Both work for Ames job sites, but deluxe units cost more and draw power. Choose standard for short-term work and tight budgets. Choose deluxe when comfort drives retention or when workers are on site eight hours or more per day. Neither one requires plumbing.
Do you rent to farms and agricultural operations?

OSHA 1928.110 requires potable water, toilets and handwashing for hand-labor employees at one facility per 20 workers, within a quarter mile walk. Farm and agricultural restrooms must meet that standard. We also rent holding tank rental for harvest crews who can't move the equipment daily. What if I need a restroom trailer instead?
A restroom trailer rental is a towed unit with multiple stalls, running water and flushing toilets, built for events and long-term projects where standard portables won't cut it. Trailers come in 2, 4 and 8 stall configurations. They cost more per day but they're worth it on large job sites or multi-day events because comfort is higher and cleaning is easier. How much does it cost to rent?

Can I rent an ADA accessible unit?
Yes. An ADA accessible porta potty meets ADA Standards section 213.2: when single-user units are clustered, at least 5 percent, and never fewer than one unit, must be accessible. The accessible unit has a 60 inch diameter turning circle (ADA Standards section 304.3.1), a 32 inch clear door opening (ADA Standards section 404.2.3) and a stable, firm, slip-resistant floor (ADA Standards section 302.1).
What about handwashing?
OSHA 1926.51(f)(1) requires washing facilities where employees are engaged in applying paints, coatings, herbicides or insecticides. A portable sink rental or handwashing station rental has soap and towels or a hand drying device (29 CFR 1910.141(d)(2)); hand sanitizer alone doesn't satisfy the rule. For non-construction work, check your specific OSHA category or contact the authority that covers your job.
